Bird Sketching & Drawing Workshop
Next date: Saturday, 20 September 2025 | 10:30 AM
to 12:30 PM
Join us for a fun and creative bird sketching and drawing workshop!
This special program is an opportunity for young artists to connect with the natural world around them and leave their mark on a community project that celebrates local birdlife!
Each child in attendance will be given a $20 gift voucher to Eckersley’s, Art Store!
What to expect:
- Special insights from a Local Aboriginal Elder. Learn how birds connect to the lands and culture of the local Wangal people.
- Sydney artist Mimi Tong will guide participants through a hands-on drawing workshop. Children will have the chance to sketch native birds using provided reference images, while also exploring how different cultures represent birds in their art.
These drawings will be exhibited at Strathfield library later this year and may feature in the final artwork at Park Road, Homebush.
Who can join? This workshop is open children aged 9-12 years
