Community and Business Awards

2025 marks the inaugural Community and Business Awards presented by Strathfield Council - a new initiative to celebrate the outstanding contributions of individuals, businesses, and groups across our local area. Whether through volunteer service, sport, innovation, or sustainability - this is your opportunity to shine a spotlight on those making a meaningful difference.

Award recipients will be recognised at a special ceremony held at Strathfield Town Hall on Thursday 27 November 2025.

Nominations are now open and close 11:59PM, Sunday 12 October 2025.

Categories

The inaugural Community and Business Awards fall into four categories:

  1. Business Excellence Awards

    Celebrating outstanding local businesses that demonstrate innovation, customer service, resilience, or community engagement.

  2. Community Service Awards

    Recognising individuals who selflessly volunteer or go above and beyond to support the wellbeing, inclusion, and resilience of the local community.

  3. Sports and Recreation Awards

    Honouring contributions to local sport, coaching, mentoring or programs that promote active living and health.

  4. Environmental Sustainability Awards

    Acknowledging leadership in sustainability, environmental protection, innovation, or community education.

Important Information

Conditions of Entry

Nominees must:

  • Live, work, study, or volunteer within the Strathfield LGA
  • Not be current Strathfield Council employees, elected officials or Members of Parliament
  • Not self-nominate
  • Have given permission to be nominated

Council reserves the right to withdraw an award if information comes to light that brings the program into disrepute. Awards will not be granted posthumously.

Announcements & Presentation

Award recipients will be announced at Strathfield Council’s Community Christmas Party on Thursday 27 November 2025.

The panel’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Judging Process

All nominations will be reviewed by an independent judging panel appointed by Council. The panel will include Council representatives and community representatives. Decisions of the judging panel are final.
