Time to shine: celebrating Seniors

The Strathfield School for Seniors was established in 1977, when the Presbyterian, Methodist and Congregational Churches combined to form the Uniting Church. John Woodhouse, Minister of the Carrington Avenue Church lead a committee consisting of both church and community members with an aim to establish classes in the fields of history, geography, art, French, German, craft, and music appreciation. It is these classes that are now part of The Strathfield School for Seniors.

In recognition of Seniors Festival, the Ironbark Gallery showcases the talents of our local residents who participate in these art classes held at the Strathfield School for Seniors, located on the grounds of The Uniting Church, Strathfield.
