Bay to Bay Works 2026

Council is removing outdated furniture along the Bay-to-Bay route within the Strathfield LGA and installing new and improved forms of furniture for the community to enjoy. Residents and the wider community around Strathfield may have noticed that there are many old seats scattered along the route, many of which are in disrepair with dents, scratches, and marks from decades of use.

 

Modern furniture in accordance with the Strathfield Public Domain Design Manual (PDDM) will be provided to replace these old seats in their current locations, as well as in new locations along the route to improve the consistency of seating along the popular track as well as to provide more places to rest at regular intervals. As well as seats, Council will be installing new bike hoops, bike repair kits, and will be installing new surfacing around the existing outdoor gym equipment at Ford Park adjacent to the route. Works are expected to begin in October 2026 and be completed by the following month in November 2026. Community may notice workers along the route undertaking these activities during these two months.
