Council is implementing new parking meters in various locations, both off and on-street, across the Strathfield area. Introducing timed parking will increase the turnover, freeing up more parking spaces and ensuring fair access to shops, sportsfields and other community spaces.

To minimise the impact of the parking meters, residents can apply for Strathfield Select parking permits which allow for up to 2 hours free parking at selected locations within the Strathfield LGA. This applies one (1) time per parking area, per day for up to 2 hours.

For example, should you park at Strathfield Town Centre car park for 45 minutes you will not be eligible for free parking back in Strathfield Town Centre car park later that day. However, you can park in any of the other eligible sites for up to 2 hours free per site, in the same day.

Strathfield Select Parking Permits

Strathfield Select Parking Permits provide 2 hours free parking at eligible locations within the Strathfield LGA.

To be eligible for the parking permits, you simply have to live in the Strathfield LGA.

You can apply for permits via the Permit Portal.

Once you park your car, you simply enter your registration number in the parking meter, select how long you will be parked for, and if you will be staying longer than 2 hours, tap your card to pay. No physical ticket will be printed.

Time Restrictions

Your Strathfield Select parking permit provides you up to 2 hours free parking, but the signed time restrictions still apply. In some places, 3 hour parking is allowed, in which case you will only be charged for 1 hour of parking. In another place, only 1 hour of parking is allowed, so your parking will be free, but you will need to move your car after 1 hour has ended.

Furthermore, we have enhanced the Portal's search functionality to make it even easier for you to find and select your specific unit address.

Previously, users in large complexes may have needed to sift through many unit numbers. Now, you can quickly narrow down your search results.

Here’s how the improved search works:

Simply type your unit number into the search box and you will see the results narrow down.

For example, if you live in Unit 404, typing "404" the system will filter the results to show only your specific unit.
