Report Litter and Illegal Dumping
Any information can assist Council to investigate and avoid litter and illegal dumping in our area. If you see an illegal dump site or someone littering, you can report it to Council by phone 9748 9999 or e-mail council@strathfield.nsw.gov.au, providing information such as:
- Address and exact location of illegal dumping (if possible, give details such as under the large tree, near a metal gate, etc.).
- Types of dumped materials, and if you think there might be any hazardous waste
- Date and time of dumping.
- Name and address of person(s) responsible (if known)
- Vehicle details, such as model, registration number and colour
- Photographs of the incident
You can also report littering from a vehicle to the EPA or report an abandoned shopping trolley to Trolley Trackers on 1800 641 497 (freecall), email trolleytracker@trolleytracker.com.au.
Free Clean-up Collections
Council’s On Call Clean Up service allows each residential property up to three clean up collections per year of up to two cubic metres for the removal of bulky household items.
You can also contact The Bower Reuse and Repair Centre for free collection and recycling of furniture and house hold items in good condition.
Avoid Leaf Litter Pollution
Leaves can cause stormwater pollution, clog storm drains and cause drainage and flooding issues.
Leaf litter on public domain or waterways is classified under the POEO Act 1997 as pollution and can attract fine of $4,000 for an individual and $8,000 for a business. Instead, sweep up the leaves and put in your green garden bin.
