Sydney Water is repairing a wastewater pipeline in Ismay Reserve (see below map for work site location). This work will improve our wastewater system and protect public health and the environment.
Works will commence Monday, 23 June 2025, and it is expected that this project will take a minimum of 6 months to complete, weather permitting.
Work hours
- 7 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday
- 8 am to 1 pm Saturday, if required.
- Some work at night might be needed, Sydney Water will notify impacted residents ahead of time.
Work will involve:
- Removal and or trimming of vegetation to allow crew and equipment to safely access the Sydney Water asset
- Construction activity including digging to expose existing pipe and pits along the pipeline
- Inserting a new liner into the pipe, this work will be conducted in sections. This section is between Lemnos Street, to Ismay reserve, near Parramatta Road.
- To keep the community safe, sections of the park may need to be closed – Sydney Water will have signage in place to advise community.
- Sydney Water will be accessing the pipe from Lemnos Streets. They will have work crews and machinery located in the streets and will at times require partial road closures. There will be traffic management in place to keep community safe.
- Upon project completion, (approximately 9 months) Sydney Water will restore impacted areas.
- Sydney Water may have partial road closures; there will be traffic management in place to protect community and our crew.
Please note that this work will be staged, with lining of pipes being replaced in sections and specialist crews working on their relevant activity. While Sydney Water try to do these stages of work concurrently, there may be delays between these activities.

This work will not affect drinking water or wastewater services, and Sydney Water will notify residents when the work is completed.
