Upcoming Maintenance Works at George St Bridge in Ismay Reserve linking to the ALDI carpark Strathfield

From 17 August 2026, Council contractors will be conducting some maintenance works on the George Street Bridge in Ismay Reserve linking to the ALDI carpark. Works are expected to take approximately 3-5 days (weather permitting), and the bridge will be closed off while these works are undertaken.
What is happening?
The works will include:
- welding, and dismantling parts of the pedestrian railing.
Signage will be displayed throughout the park and there will be a detour in place to instruct pedestrians to follow the path to Paramatta Road.
