Council is undertaking upgrade works along the Bay-to-Bay Cycle Route. These works will affect sections of the Cooks River walking and cycleway between Chain of Ponds Reserve and Southend Tennis Centre, as well as at Airey Park.
What’s happening?
As part of the project, existing park furniture will be removed and replaced with new items in more suitable locations, with additional facilities provided where appropriate.
The pathway will remain open throughout the works. However, residents and visitors may experience some temporary noise and minor disruptions within active work areas. Seating and other furniture within the project area will also be removed during construction, resulting in a temporary period between removal and installation where facilities may be unavailable.
Works are anticipated to be completed by mid-November, weather depending.
