Tavistock Reserve is a neighbourhood park designed as an integral feature of the surrounding residential area, providing recreation opportunities and enhancement of local amenity and streetscape. The objective of this park is provision of safe play areas especially for children under surveillance of adults. This park features a dedicated children’s playground.
Tavistock Reserve is built on a former road, Tavistock Road, which was cut-off with the construction of Homebush Bay Drive. The park was built and opened in 2012.
Tavistock Reserve is located on land granted to John Fleming in 1806, which was subdivided in 1882 as the ‘Underwood Estate’. All the streets in this sub-division were named by the subdividers after places in England. Tavistock is a town in the country of Devon, England.
