Boden Reserve is a neighbourhood park designed as an integral feature of the surrounding residential area, providing recreation opportunities and enhancement of local amenity and streetscape. The objective of this park is provision of safe play areas especially for children under surveillance of adults. This park features a dedicated children’s playground.
The land on which Boden Reserve is built is divided by a large and deep drain. The land was acquired by Strathfield Council for a public park as the land was considered unsuitable for building. This park was named in honour of Frederick Boden, an Alderman of Strathfield Council [1924-33]. (Reference: Jones, C, Parks, Reserves & Memorials of Strathfield,2004).
