Shakti Spirit - A Charity Jazz Raga experience for Type1 Diabetes

"Shakti Spirit," meaning strength and energy, brings together a diverse array of talented artists for an evening of music, culture, and compassion. All profits from the event will be donated to Insulin for Life Australia, supporting individuals and families affected by T1D.

The event will feature an impressive intergenerational lineup of performers:

SYD SIBZ: Nethra (violin) & Sriman (Mridangam): Siblings embodying passion and dedication to the arts
Shakti Spirit: Acclaimed Australian jazz artist Dr. Sandy Evans and trailblazing guitarist Jess Green collaborate with Indian classical vocalist Nadhamuni Gayatri Bharat and Ghatam artist Prahlad Iyer
Revive & Thrive: Meena Narasimhan and Anitha Gopinathan, warriors of the historic martial art form of Adimurai

The highlight of the evening will be the inaugural performance from Shakti Spirit, a new Indian-Jazz Fusion Ensemble. Led by award-winning improvisor and composer Sandy Evans, who has a PhD focused on Carnatic Jazz Intercultural music, Shakti Spirit promises a seamless blend of intricate melodies and rhythms that transcend cultural boundaries. The concert also celebrates female creativity and strength through the shared joy of improvised music-making.

"Fusion is at the heart of our concert," Raghavan explains. "It embodies the spirit of collaboration and cultural exchange, symbolizing how different communities can work together towards a common goal."
