Join us for a magical event  as we celebrate Moon Festival 2026, in honour of one of the most popular holidays in East and Southeast Asian culture!

We'll honour the full harvest moon with a fun-filled programme with lion dancers, free kids' activities, delicious eats and live music!

When: Saturday 26 September 2026, 1pm - 6pm.

Where: The Crescent, Homebush West

Kids Activities

Kids can join in with face painting, craft session and a fun mochi-making class!

Activity Timetable:

1pm - 5pm: Craft Activity

1pm - 6pm: Mochi Making Class 

1pm - 6pm: Facepainting

Food & Drink

What better way to experience culture than through food? Delicious eats from an array of international food stalls and nearby local businesses along The Crescent and Henley Road.

Council will be giving away free $10 food vouchers* redeemable in select businesses in Homebush West until 5:30pm on Saturday 26 September 2026. Come visit the Strathfield Council tent to get your free food vouchers on the day!

  • *Limited to 1 voucher per person. Only redeemable in participating businesses only.

Getting to Moon Festival 

Location

The Moon Festival is taking place on The Crescent, located immediately outside Flemington train station (southern side).

Road Closures

This will take place along part of The Crescent between Henley Road and Hampstead Road from 7am until 11pm.

Getting There

Parking will be limited, so leave the car at home and take one of these routes!

Cycling

It’s just a short detour off the Cooks River Bay to Bay track. View the cycleway map here.

Train and Bus

The Moon Festival event site is conveniently located right next to Flemington Train Station and bus stops along the 407 and 408 routes.

Accessibility

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking can be found in the car park located via Exeter Road and access to the event site via Henley Road.

Pathways

The Crescent and Henley Road is fully cemented and paved, with kerb lips and raised pedestrian crossings. It is suitable for prams, wheelchairs and other devices to assist with movement. 

Accessible Bathrooms

Portable accessible bathrooms will be available on site.

Changing Facilities

Portable changing facilities will be available on site.

Food and Drinks

Food and drink can be purchased at food stalls on the event site or drop by one of the local businesses located along The Crescent or Henley Road.

Council staff are on hand during events to assist visitors.
