School Vision Statement
Our vision is to cultivate a school of excellence that inspires all students to embrace learning, reach their fullest potential, and flourish through positive well-being.
School Context
Homebush Public School serves a diverse community with 516 enrolled students, 98% of whom come from non-English speaking backgrounds. The school prioritizes professional learning for staff, with a strong focus on visible learning through explicit teaching strategies. Our dedicated and collaborative staff are committed to placing student learning and well-being at the forefront of their teaching practices.
The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework unites our school community to create a positive, safe, and supportive learning culture for all students. In addition, the school has a strong tradition in sports and the creative arts, with a focus on inclusivity and participation.
Through extensive consultation with parents and staff, the school has identified key areas for improvement in its Strategic Improvement Plan. These areas include student growth and attainment, effective classroom practices, and enhanced assessment data skills and analysis. Building on previous efforts, the plan emphasizes deep teacher engagement with the syllabus, quality implementation of explicit teaching, and the use of assessment data to tailor the curriculum to individual student needs.
