Work Commencing

Work will commence in early 2021 on upgrading the popular Homebush Village, to ensure it effectively meets the needs of the growing population.

As the community has grown and expanded around the Village, it has become increasingly apparent that structural updates are required to improve functionality of the area.

After consulting with the community, your Councillors have elected to:

  • Convert Burlington Road to one-way heading west and allowing 90 degree parking.
  • Add a round-about at the intersection of Burlington Road and Rochester Street.
  • Keep Rochester Street as it already is.
  • Implement an additional 22 parking spaces.
  • Festoon lighting
  • Public seating

More information on the upgrade can be found in the Homebush Village Upgrade document.

Update 28 April 2021

Work will begin on Monday 17 May 2021 and is expected to finish by Wednesday 20 June 2021 (weather permitting).

Working hours will be 7am-5pm with some night works.

Some areas will need to be barricaded and there will be some disruption which we are doing our best to plan to minimise wherever possible. Your patience and cooperation is appreciated.

Update 1 March 2021

After review of the plan and community feedback, a 2nd roundabout will be installed at the corner of The Crescent and Rochester Street. This additional roundabout will provide better flow of traffic and increased safety.

Update 13 August 2021

The Homebush Village upgrade has been successfully completed! Council wishes to thank to local community for providing their valued feedback, and for their patience whilst works were underway.

The aim of the structural upgrades is to improve functionality and road safety in the area.
