Notice of Motion - Update on Council Finances

Notice of Motion – Submitted at the Ordinary Meeting of Council held on 13 August 2024

At the ordinary Council meeting of Strathfield Municipal Council held on 13 August 2024, Council resolved on a notice of motion to inform all residents within the Local Government Area (LGA) as soon as possible, setting out in summary the following items:

  1. Council’s unfunded infrastructure backlog
  2. Councils persistent historical and current operating deficits
  3. Cuts to Council expenditure to improve Council’s financial position
  4. The new rating model and its impacts on bills so far
  5. The reduction in garbage levies
  6. New infrastructure and works funded by Council because of the special rate variation
  7. Council’s auditor’s comments on the improvement of Council’s financial position.
