Strathfield Festival 2023
For immediate release
3 April 2023
Strathfield Council is bringing Strathfield Square back to life with an inaugural event, Strathfield Festival from 27 to 29 April 2023.
Experience a feast for the senses with cultural performances, live music, roaming entertainment, various cuisines from local businesses, art projections, lighting installations and more!
Mayor Karen Pensabene says, “Strathfield Festival reflects our diverse communities, providing a platform for local businesses to showcase the culinary treats they have on offer for everyone to enjoy. Strathfield Square will be centre stage as locals and visitors share different cultures through food, music and dance.”
“We’re looking forward to bringing our community together to enjoy the best Strathfield has to offer by activating the heart of the Square, encouraging the community to support local businesses and creating social cohesion as we share meaningful experiences at Strathfield Festival. Local school students have also been invited to bring life into the Square by submitting artworks depicting themes of multiculturalism to be projected onto buildings over three nights,” explains Cr Pensabene.
Strathfield Festival will feature dazzling cultural performances you wouldn’t want to miss, ranging from Bollywood dancers, a traditional Welcome to Country with a didgeridoo and dance performance, Japanese drumming to a lion dance performed on poles.
Live music will set the mood with performances by Lah-Lah, Hot Potato, Soulganic, Suite Az and La Fiesta Sound System to keep everyone entertained and dancing.
Bring your appetite to delight your taste buds and come for a fun-filled time with your friends and family. You will be in for a treat as you experience and enjoy the Inner West culture.
This project is funded by the NSW Government.
