At the 16 April 2016 Council meeting, Strathfield Council resolved to commence legal action against the State Government regarding the proposed merger with the City of Canada Bay and Burwood Council.

Together with four other Councils: Hunters Hill, Mosman and North Sydney and Lane Cove, Strathfield’s hearing will commence in the Land and Environment Court on Monday 30 May 2016.

“Strathfield residents have made it clear that they do not want to amalgamate. We have listened to our community and will continue to do what we can to represent them.” Mayor Ok said.
