Strathfield Council is joining hands with Share the Dignity this Christmas!
Share the Dignity is launching It’s in the Bag Christmas campaign collection from 16 November to 2 December. The campaign strives to address the needs of women and girls living on the street, and in sheltered or crisis accommodation and make a difference by showing empathy, compassion and kindness to brighten their Christmas.
According to Homelessness Australia, statistics reveal that domestic violence and relationship issues are the biggest factors contributing to homelessness in NSW. It is also shown that many who are homeless, at risk or are victims of domestic violence are women.
Council encourages all local residents to participate by donating a handbag in new or in good condition with female personal care, sanitary and hygienic items that will make a woman feel special and loved. Handbags can be dropped off at Strathfield Council’s Customer Service Centre located at 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield.
