The Low Rise Medium Density Housing Code, which was meant to come into force from 1 July 2019 has been further deferred to allow for an Independent Review of the code to be carried out.

This review commenced in mid-June and should be completed by the end of July.

To allow for this review, 45 Council’s (excluding Ryde) which had previously been granted a 12 month deferral from this code, have been granted a further extension to the deferral of 4 months till 31 October 2019.

This means that the code will now not come into force in the Strathfield LGA until 1 November 2019.
