Public Exhibition – Draft High Pedestrian Activity Area Study – Homebush West

On 15 November 2023 Council resolved to place the Draft 40 km/h High Pedestrian Activity Area (HPAA) Study Homebush West Town Centres on public exhibition.

Background

In December 2021 Council received Grant funding to undertake the Strathfield, Homebush and Homebush own Centres 40 km/h (HPAA) Studies as part of the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) 40 km/h (HPAA) Program.

The HPAA Program commenced in 2003 and is funded and managed by the TfNSW’s Centre for Road Safety (CRS). It provides for the design and implementation of traffic calming and pedestrian infrastructure and strategies to create self-enforcing 40 km/h speed environments in locations with a high level of interaction between pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Study Area – Homebush West Town Centre

The Study Area for the Homebush West Town Centre as nominated by Council is boarded by Eastbourne Road to the west, Exeter Road to the south, Hampstead Road to the east, and The Crescent to the north.

This Draft Report will be on public exhibition from Tuesday 21 November 2023 until Tuesday 19 December 2023 and can also be viewed at:

  • Council’s Customer Service Centre – 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield
  • Strathfield Library – 65-67 Rochester Street, Homebush

This is your chance to comment on any aspect of the study areas. Written submissions may be made until 5pm Tuesday 19 December 2023 and should be sent to the General Manager, Strathfield Council, PO Box 120, Strathfield NSW 2135 or emailed to council@strathfield.nsw.gov.au.
