Planned Public Rally – Saturday 22 January 2022

Council has been advised of a planned public rally which will march from Strathfield Station to Burwood Park on Saturday 22 January from 11:30am to 4:30pm.

The planned route will be from Strathfield Station (via The Boulevard, Morwick Street, Railway Parade and Burwood Road) to the cricket oval on Burwood Park.

It is expected that foot traffic in the area will be quite significant, changes to local traffic conditions should be expected.

Please note there will be road closures in the following streets, and consider avoiding the area during the rally or to use alternate routes to your destination.

Streets in bold form part of the protest route, all other streets are closures for detours and/or to ensure traffic is unable to mix with protestors.

Albert Road – Full closure

Redmyre Road – Full closure

The Boulevard – Russell Street to Albert Road

Parnell Street – The Boulevard to Morwick Street

Lyons Street – The Boulevard to Parnell Street

Bells Lane – Lyon Street to Morwick Street

Morwick Street – The Boulevard to Wentworth Road

Wentworth Road – Railway Crescent to Russell Street

Railway Parade – Wentworth Road to Burwood Road

Conder Street – Hornsey Street to Railway parade

Wynne Avenue – Unity Place to Railway Parade

Clarendon Place – Full closure

Railway Parade – Burwood Road to Shaftesbury Road

Burwood Road – Belmore Street to Railway Parade

Burwood Road – Railway Parade to Wilga Street

Railway Crescent – John Street to Burwood Road

Deane Street – Burwood Road to Mary Street

George Street – John Street to Burwood Road

Park Avenue – Park Road to Burwood Road

Dunns Lane – Full closure
