New pedestrian and cycleway bridge crossings will be installed at Lorraine Street, Hamilton Street and George Street to join parts of the Bay to Bay path, improving connectivity with Bressington and Mason Parks, as well as Ismay Reserve. The Bay to Bay path is a continuous collection of cycle and pedestrian paths linking Botany Bay to Sydney Olympic Park, providing opportunities for active transport and recreation.

The project is funded by the NSW Government under the Parramatta Road Urban Amenity Improvement Program (PRUAIP). The PRUAIP is a $198 million initiative by the NSW Government to improve open space and active transport links along the Parramatta Road corridor.

Public Art

An additional facet of this project will see public art installed along the bridges. After an extensive expression of interest process, Studio Chris Fox and Mike Daly have been selected to fulfil the project. Their proposal can be found on this page under documents.
