July 30 – Young music prodigies join Strathfield Spring Festival line up

30 July 2013

The Strathfield Spring Festival is proudly launching Australia’s newest talents with two local music prodigies yet to hit their teenage years joining the entertainment line-up for 2013.

Ten year old drumming sensation Jagger Alexander-Erber and 9 year old guitar star Jeremy Yong burst onto the Australian music scene last year with their unbelievable appearances on Australia’s Got Talent.

The two are both well on their way to a career of rock-star proportions and will join the Spring Festival main stage entertainment line up which is set to rock this Father’s Day on September 1.

A McDonald College student in North Strathfield, Jagger Alexander-Erber impressed the Australia’s Got Talent judges and audiences with his drumming skills in his four performances on the hit show, and has since caught the attention of international music heavyweights.

Jagger has been approached by Fred Durst (formerly of Limp Bizkit) to play on his upcoming solo album, and recently met The Rolling Stones, Kiss and Motley Crue. He has received endorsements from DW Drums, PDP Drums, Monster Headphones and clothing company Famous Stars and Straps (founded by Travis Barker of Blink 182).

Recently, Jagger has been recording and writing songs with his band Monster and collaborated on a video clip with Australian DJ, DJ Samrai. He has made local and international TV appearances, and is looking forward to performing at a large festival in Australia.

“I am very proud to be involved with the Strathfield Spring Festival. After just playing at some of the most iconic locations in Los Angeles it feels amazing to be back on home soil to be part of this event,” he said.

His father and manager, Mark Alexander-Erber promised that Jagger’s performance on Father’s Day will be a memorable one.

“We are thrilled to be involved this year. We are putting together a show that will blow your socks off. Jagger will be performing with his band, as well DJ Samrai. Get ready to rock.”

Strathfield local Jeremy Yong’s musical skill set includes multiple instruments, however it was his guitar and vocal abilities that made him the youngest ever semi finalist on Australia’s Got Talent, aged just seven at the time.

Jeremy has been recognised internationally, has endorsements with various guitar brands, and has made guest appearances on Korea’s highest rated talent show and performed live to over 30,000 people at MFest in Darling Harbour.

The youngster is excited to be a part of a festival in his local area.

“It’s really awesome to be a part of the festival this year, and support my local community. I can’t wait to sing and play on stage, and give everyone a taste of my own arrangements of some really cool rock and blues songs,” he said.

Jagger Alexander-Erber and Jeremy Yong join The Voice finalist Simon Meli and the Sydney heat of the Telstra Road to Discovery program on the entertainment line-up for the Strathfield Spring Festival.
