Movies in the Park Season 2024 - 2025

 

We are delighted to announce the return of Movies in the Park on select Saturday* nights at Strathfield Park starting Saturday 26th October 2024!

Pack a picnic, bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a great evening of free entertainment for all the family under the stars.

Where: Strathfield Park, screenings now take place on the top synthetic field closest to Homebush Road.

Time: Screenings commence at sunset.

*Australia Day movie screening will take place at Strathfield Square on Sunday 26th January 2025.

All the Whos love Christmas, yet just outside of their beloved Whoville lives the Grinch. The Grinch is a nasty creature that hates Christmas, and plots to steal it away from the Whos, whom he equally abhors. Yet a small child, Cindy Lou Who, decides to try befriending the Grinch.

26 January - Oddball

An eccentric chicken farmer, with the help of his granddaughter, trains his mischievous dog Oddball to protect a penguin sanctuary from fox attacks in an attempt to reunite his family and save their seaside town.

This movie screening will take place at Strathfield Square as part of Council's Australia Day celebrations.

8 February - DC League Of Super Pets

DC League Of Super Pets

When Superman and the rest of the Justice League are kidnapped, Krypto the Super-Dog must convince a rag-tag shelter pack – Ace the hound, PB the potbellied pig, Merton the turtle and Chip the squirrel – to master their own newfound powers and help him rescue the superheroes.

22 February - Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie

A magical meteor crash lands in Adventure City and gives the PAW Patrol pups superpowers, transforming them into The Mighty Pups.

Movies in the Park is hosted in Strathfield Park, on the synthetic field closest to Homebush Road.

Getting Here

Public Transport

The nearest train station is Strathfield. Buses operate along Homebush Road (Route 480).

Strathfield Connector

Hop on the Strathfield Connector! With two stops on Homebush Road right next to Strathfield Park, it’s the easiest way to get to the park. The first stop is near Augusta St and the second is near Gelling Avenue.

Cycling

Ditch the car and ride your bicycle!

Strathfield Park is less than 1km from the Bay to Bay Cycleway. Please see the map for the detour from the Cycleway to the Park.

Accessibility

Strathfield Park is accessible from many directions, including along the roads, Homebush Road and Chalmers Road.

Pathways

Strathfield Park has cemented pathways throughout the park, leading to all facilities. Each synthetic grass field also has a pathway all around their borders. The pathways are suitable for prams, wheelchairs and other devices to assist with movement.

Accessible Parking

Disabled parking spaces are available along the park boundary on Chalmers Road.

Accessible Bathrooms

Accessible bathrooms are located in all three of the amenities buildings on site.

Changing Facilities

Changing facilities are located in all three of the amenities buildings on site.

Food and Drinks

There is a kiosk on the Homebush Road side of the park, near the playground, where food and drinks can be purchased. Popcorn is available during the movie.

Council staff are on hand during events to assist visitors.
