Youth Achievement Awards – nominations now open

Strathfield Council and Strathfield Rotary are calling on the Strathfield community to nominate young people who deserve recognition for their hard work and contribution to the community as part of the 2015 Strathfield Youth Achievement Awards.

Nominations can be made across seven categories including arts, community service, environment, business and team and individual sports. The awards are open to young people aged 12-25 who live, attend school, work or train in the Strathfield local government area.

Mayor of Strathfield, Cr Gulian Vaccari noted that the Youth Achievement Awards are a great way for young people to feel a part of the community.

“Young people are the future of Strathfield. By celebrating their achievements, we can further encourage innovative thinking and positive participation in the community.”

“With 15 schools and a university in the Strathfield area, there are fantastic young people active in the community each day. The Youth Achievement Awards are a great opportunity to recognise the important role they play,” Cr Vaccari said.

Teachers, parents, coaches and student leaders are encouraged to nominate young people who meet the awards criteria. Nominations are now open and must be received by Wednesday 15 April.
