With the 2015 Cooks River Fun Run just around the corner, Strathfield Council is pleased to announce a new range of prizes for the event.

The male and female winner of the 5km and 10km events will receive a $175 voucher donated by Running Science Balmain. Winners of each age category will receive a prize pack donated by Science in Sport. A lucky draw prize for all participants will take place at the event.

Now in its sixth year, the run has been increasing in popularity with runners and the local community. The flat course offers a great opportunity to run a PB and test your fitness in the lead up to some of Sydney’s biggest running events.

New to the Cooks River Fun Run in 2015, popular running commentators Mossy & Robbo will be hosting the event. The duo will be wearing the Bowel Cancer Australia bum shorts on the day in support of the event’s charity partner.

The fun run course takes in the foreshore of the Cooks River along the Bay to Bay cycleway and is a great event for the whole family with entries from $35 for adults and $20 for children. $5 from each entry is donated to Bowel Cancer Australia.

“Strathfield Council is pleased to host an event which encourages a healthy lifestyle and supports an important cause,” Cr Vaccari said.

“With the 2km kids run available for children and the option of the 5km walk, the Cooks River Fun Run really is an event for the whole family. I look forward to seeing many runners and walkers enjoying an active Sunday morning along the Cooks River.”
