Sharing the Gift of Kindness

In the midst of the current health crisis, the Strathfield community has demonstrated their capacity to choose kindness by helping residents in need during uncertain and difficult times.
20 residents have donated essential items for distribution and the gift of their time since the launch of Council’s program Neighbour2Neighbour in late March. Due to this generosity, Council has been able to fulfil every request for assistance.
Eager to establish a food collection drive, Strathfield Girls High School contacted Strathfield Council to help support vulnerable residents. “During this unprecedented time, we understand the impacts the COVID19 pandemic has had on many people, especially our elderly/vulnerable citizens within our local community”, explained Deputy Principal, Melinda Wong.
A number of generous students donated essential items such as toilet paper, long life milk and soup which have been sent to the local Meals on Wheels service located at the Dutton Centre for distribution.
