September 26 – October month of food comes to Strathfield

The countdown is on to the month of food in Strathfield culminating in the Strathfield Food Festival celebration of Asian Flavours with leading chefs Janelle Bloom and Gabriel Gaté on October 28.
Strathfield Council, as part of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival in combination with Taste Food Tours will hold three food events in October.
For lovers of Korean food, you can’t go past the Seoul Food Nights Progressive Dinner in Strathfield on Friday 12 October. This three stop, three course meal adventure will have you back to Strathfield in no time.
On Saturday 20 October, enjoy a 3.5 hour walking tour of ‘Little Korea’ Strathfield including lunch, tastings and a shopping bag of samples for $90 for adults.
Then on October 28 the Strathfield Food Festival will see Strathfield Square come to life with the tastes and scents of Asian Flavours from food vendors and local restaurants sharing the secrets of Strathfield’s many eating destinations.
Celebrating Asian Flavours, the Strathfield Food Festival will feature live cooking demonstrations from Ready, Steady Cook’s Janelle Bloom and Gabriel Gaté will share secrets of Asian fusion-inspired French cooking, presented by event sponsors Sydney Markets.
A new addition to the Strathfield Food Festival will be Food Trail walking tours of Strathfield Town Centre. Food lovers can register for a Food Trail for just $10 at the festival and experience a one-hour tour to take in some of the highlights of Strathfield’s eating precinct and experience the secrets and behind the scenes of some of Strathfield’s top restaurants and chefs.
The Strathfield Food Festival will also see the launch of the 2012 edition of the Strathfield Good Food Guide, with complete restaurant listings for the Strathfield area that will never leave you short of a new spot to eat out.
