Free e-waste Drop off Day

 Council organises annual free e-waste drop off days to save your old appliances from going to landfill!

Council will host an E-Waste Drop Off Day at the Strathfield Depot, 1 Weeroona St, Strathfield on Sunday 22nd September 2019, from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

You can take household quantities of the following e-waste items:

Electronic Items Accepted:

  • Televisions
  • Switching gear
  • Monitors
  • Projectors
  • Desktops
  • Electronic Games
  • Laptops
  • Joysticks
  • Printers
  • CDs and DVDs and Tapes
  • Photocopiers
  • Cameras
  • Servers
  • Small Domestic Appliances
  • DVD players
  • Video recorders
  • Speakers
  • Network equipment
  • Sound equipment
  • Scanners and Faxes
  • Mobile Phones
  • Landline Phones
  • Batteries

 

Items NOT Accepted:

  • Large White Goods (eg fridges, washing machined)
  • Lab equipment
  • Medical equipment
  • Lights – fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, eco-bulbs
  • Test equipment
  • ANY pressurised canisters/cylinders
  • Items containing hazardous materials and compounds
  • Items that have been in contact with human bodily fluids or human waste
  • Deliveries that contain ANY organic materials
  • Unsealed items containing ANY liquids X-Ray Tubes
  • Smoke Alarms
  • Electronic E-Tags

 

 Important Information

  • This E-waste Drop Off Day is open to the wider local community and not limited to Strathfield Council residents only.
  • ANY deliveries containing hazardous or non-acceptable items or materials will NOT be accepted for delivery.
  • As a guide for definition of “household” – Council will accept up to 5 TVs and 5 PCs per vehicle, which enables people to do a collection from neighbours.  However, loads that look to be commercial will be rejected, and details of alternative locations will be provided.
