Registrations Open for Cooks River Fun Run

Entries are now open for the Cooks River Fun Run, now in its 7th year on Sunday 26 June. The race starts at Freshwater Park in Strathfield, and features a 5km and 10km race, 5km walk and 2km Kids Run.

Early bird entries are open online until 5pm Friday June 10.

The Cooks River Fun Run has continued to grow since its inception in 2010, and Strathfield Council is hoping for a record number of entrants this year.

The event is popular with runners looking to test their fitness in the lead up to some of Sydney’s biggest races. The flat course is certified by Athletics Australia, meaning this event can be used to qualify for other races.

“We invite all our residents to participate in the fun run and take in the beautiful scenery on this great running track”, Mayor of Strathfield, Cr Sang Ok said.

The 2km Kids Run and 5km walk provide options for the whole family, making it a great, active morning for the local community.

For the fourth year in a row, the event is supporting Bowel Cancer Australia, with $5 from each entry donated to assist with research and awareness for this important cause.
