Public Notice – Introduction of a Resident Parking Scheme (Wentworth Street, Greenacre)

Strathfield Council has approved the introduction of a Residential Parking Scheme (RPS) in Wentworth Street, Greenacre (RPS10). This is in response to representations by residents stating the residential serenity of the street has been compromised by the workers engaged in the Northern vicinity of Wentworth Street.

To be eligible for a parking permit under the RPS, you must be a current resident of the property at which you also have one or more vehicles registered. Proof of your residence and vehicle registration are required when applying for a parking permit.

The number of parking permits issued to a single dwelling household will be determined by the difference between the number of vehicles registered at the address, and the number of off-street parking spaces available to the household, up to a maximum of two permits per household. Single dwelling households can also apply for one visitor parking permit.

For apartments and multi-unit dwellings, a maximum of one parking permit may be issued per household. Residents of multi-unit dwellings are not eligible for visitor parking permits.

Installation of new signs stating “4P 8am-6pm – Mon –Fri: 8am-1pm Sat, Authorised Permit Holders Excepted Area 10” will be undertaken in July and the enforcement of the new parking restrictions will commence from Friday 6 September 2019. After this date any parked vehicles which exceed the relevant parking restrictions and do not have a parking permit displayed correctly, may be fined.

In order to check your eligibility and receive a parking permit, please complete the attached Resident Parking Permit application form and read the eligibility criteria on the back of the form. No fee will be charged for the issue of parking permits for a period of one year after the commencement of the scheme.

Application forms can be lodged in person by visiting Council’s Customer Service Centre at 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield between 8.30am and 5pm Monday to Friday.

If you are unable to lodge the application form in person, please complete the attached application form and return, with copies of the requested documentation, to Council via email
council@strathfield.nsw.gov.au or post to RPS application, PO Box 120 Strathfield NSW 2135. If you are eligible, Council will send the parking permit in the mail. Postal applications must Friday 6 September 2019.
