Powells Creek Naturalisation – path closure

Do you regularly walk or ride along Powells Creek or are you a Powells Creek Tennis Centre regular?

Sydney Water will commence works in the area which involves the closure of the shared path between Powells Creek and Mason Park Wetlands from 18 August 2017 for up to 11 months.

You can continue to enjoy your regular walk or ride, we have built an alternate route along Salesyard Creek cycleway, Underwood Road and Pomeroy Street. The map below outlines this route.

The route along Underwood Road has been widened to help make your journey a little easier.

As part of Sydney Water’s naturalisation work, existing concrete banks need to be replaced with sandstone blocks. In order to do this, the shared path behind Powells Creed Tennis centre from the Conway Avenue Footbridge needs to be closed.

You may still access Victoria Avenue, Bicentennial Park and Concord West via a shared path detour through the Tennis Centre carpark.

This detour will be in place from 18 August 2017 for up to 11 months.

Whilst this detour is in place, please take extra care when entering and exiting the Tennis Centre carpark.
