CSIRO has been contracted to conduct Hot Smoke Tests in accordance with AS4391 to evaluate smoke exhaust systems at the Westconnex M4 East Tunnel. These tests use smoke cannisters which are classed as a pyrotechnic and therefore fall under the NSW regulation.

The test will be conducted on the following dates:

• 15 June 2019 – 6pm to 5am ‐ CONFIRMED
• 22 June 2019 – 6pm to 5am – NOT CONFIRMED. It may not occur depending on test outcome on 15 June.

During the test, there may be white non‐toxic smoke visible to pedestrians and motorists from the ventilation outlets at the following worksite locations:

• Cintra Park Site, Concord (near the intersection of Paramatta Rd & Taylor Street)
• Paramatta Rd Ventilation Facility, Haberfield. (Corner of Walker Ave & Paramatta Rd)
