Flood Support Now Available in Strathfield Council

Strathfield Council has been added to the list of areas eligible for relief from flood damage. The relief comes after severe storms and flooding struck the Greater Sydney area from 22 February.

Mayor Matthew Blackmore said “clean up from the recent weather event is underway. With some residents facing large bills to mitigate flood damage, Council requested the Strathfield area be added to the list of LGAs eligible for disaster assistance. I welcome the support from the Federal and State Governments, which as well as assisting residents, will be put to use fixing road damage in the Strathfield area.”

The support may include:

  • Help for eligible people whose homes or belongings have been damaged (eligibility criteria apply)
  • Support for affected local councils to help with the costs of cleaning up and restoring damaged essential public assets
  • Financial assistance for small businesses, primary producers and non-profit organisations, and
  • Freight subsidies for primary producers.
