About

Pilgrim Park is a neighbourhood park designed as an integral feature of the surrounding residential area, providing recreation opportunities and enhancement of local amenity and streetscape.  The objective of this park is provision of safe play areas especially for children under surveillance of adults.  This park features a dedicated children’s playground.

History

The land on which Pilgrim Park is built contains a large natural watercourse. The land was acquired by Strathfield Council for a public park as the land was considered unsuitable for building. This park was named in honour of William Pilgrim, a Mayor of Strathfield Council.  (Reference: Jones, C, Parks, Reserves & Memorials of Strathfield, 2004).
