Local Talent on show in HSC Art Exhibition

Strathfield Council will hold its fourth annual HSC Art Exhibition in early December, showcasing the works of some of Strathfield’s most talented school students.

The HSC Art Exhibition will include the major works of Visual Arts students from local high schools. The exhibition will also feature artwork from students from Strathfield’s sister city, Gapyeong County in Korea.

The works will be on show at a free exhibition in the Strathfield Town Hall between 2 and 7 December. The HSC Art Exhibition Opening Night on Thursday 3 December will include a series of award presentations to some of Strathfield’s most talented young artists.

The artworks will be judged by a panel comprising of Mayor of Strathfield, Cr Sang Ok, local teacher, Ms Jae Hee Cho, and art dealer, Mr Kevin Hill.

The 2015 Prize Categories include:

  • Best in Exhibition
  • Winner of Best in Exhibition’s School
  • Runner Up
  • Best Painting
  • Best Drawing/ Mixed Medium
  • Year 11 Encouragement Award
  • People’s Choice

The HSC Art Exhibition is a significant event in the Strathfield social calendar as it celebrates the creative talents of students in our local area. All residents are invited to visit the exhibition and vote for their favourite artwork for a chance to win a gift voucher.

Artworks have come from a number of schools in the area, including:

  • Strathfield Girls High
  • Burwood Girls High
  • Australian International Academy
  • Santa Sabina College
  • Homebush Boys High
  • Strathfield South High School
  • St Patricks College
  • McDonald College

The HSC Art Exhibition will award cash or gift vouchers to the winners of the award categories, with thanks to sponsors Top Media Group, Pancakes on the Rocks, Outback Steakhouse and Morning Glory.
