June 9 – Strathfield reward youth achievements

9 June 2011

Strathfield Council along with Strathfield Rotary recognised the achievements of young people in the area at the Youth Achievement Awards night.

The Youth Achievement Awards saw over 30 nominations across five categories for community service; arts and culture; environment, science and technology; individual and teams sports.

Each winner is a great example of the talent and dedication of the youth in the Strathfield area and was recognised at Strathfield Golf Club by members of Rotary and Mayor of Strathfield, Cr Tony Maroun.

“The various nominations show just how talented and worldly the young people of Strathfield are. Each of the nominees is to be commended for their various achievements and contributions to their communities.

“These winners are being rewarded for their outstanding achievements and are each a credit to their schools, families’ and to the Strathfield community. They are young people with big futures and I wish them all the best,” Cr Maroun said.

Nominations were open to young people aged 12-25 years who live, study, work or train in the Strathfield Municipality.
