June 21 – Heritage Assistance grants now open

Strathfield Council have opened the 2011/12 Heritage Assistance Fund, offering grants for owners of heritage listed properties for conservation and restoration works.

The Heritage Assistance Fund is a grants scheme available to assist with the partial funding of heritage conservation and restoration works for properties listed as a heritage item or within a Heritage Conservation Area in the Strathfield Council area.

Mayor of Strathfield, Cr Tony Maroun said the aim of the grants is to provide financial assistance to owners of heritage listed properties in order to protect and preserve heritage in Strathfield.

“Heritage is an important feature of Strathfield’s built and natural environment and Strathfield Council takes great pride in supporting these distinct and unique qualities through financial assistance to eligible property owners,” Cr Tony Maroun said.

Applications for the 2011/12 grants are now open until 30 September 2011.
