July 1 – Tai Chi for seniors moves to new location

1 July 2014

Strathfield Council has relocated one of its most popular fitness and wellbeing programs, Tai Chi and Qigong, to the Strathfield Town Hall. The new location was selected in response to community requests and an increasing number of participants in the program.

The course is conducted by a highly skilled and traditionally trained instructor, Jan Lee. Jan is experienced in guiding learners through relaxation and exercise techniques that provide enjoyment and physical benefit.

Tai Chi is open to all Strathfield residents aged 50 and over for a cost of $50 per 10 week term. The next term commences on Monday 14 July, with classes run at the Strathfield Town Hall every Monday from 10am to 11am.

Anyone who is interested in joining can register at the Town Hall on July 14. Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and sports shoes. A free bus will be available to transport residents from the Strathfield Community Centre, Bates Street, Homebush, leaving at 9.45am and returning after the class has concluded.
