Fitzgerald Park Street Art Project

Strathfield Council is holding a community consultation session with residents on Saturday 5 March to decide on a street art project in Fitzgerald Park.

The consultation will be held in the Ironbark Room at Strathfield Library. Residents and local youth are invited to drop in and voice their opinions on the proposal between 12noon and 3pm.

Each year Council spends thousands of dollars in removing offensive and unsightly graffiti in the area.

“Residents should not have to suffer because of the inconsiderate actions of a select few. Graffiti looks unsightly and attracts the wrong crowds,” Mayor of Strathfield Councillor Sang Ok said.

Council has engaged experienced street artists to design artworks to Fitzgerald Park amenities. These artists have delivered similar programs to many other organisations such as Sydney Water.

It is anticipated that many local young people and residents will be involved with the design process to create a vision for their park. The team will also be approaching other local organisations such as local schools to include their feedback
