Start preparing you #ItsInTheBag donations this November and help Council make this Christmas special to thousands of people doing it tough.
Strathfield Council is again joining hands with Share the Dignity this Christmas to help address the needs of women and girls living on the street or in sheltered accommodation.
This year’s Share the Dignity campaign will run from Thursday 19 November – Monday 30 November.
Council encourages all local residents to participate by donating a handbag in new or good condition with female personal care, sanitary, hygienic items and a Christmas card that will make a woman feel special and valued.
Handbags can be dropped off at Strathfield Council’s collection points:
- Strathfield Council’s Customer Service Centre – 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield (opening hours are Monday – Friday from 10am to 4pm)
- Strathfield Council Library and Innovation Hub – 65-67 Rochester Street, Homebush (opening hours are Monday – Friday from 9.30am – 4.30pm)
Council will be hosting a Share the Dignity morning tea to kick start this charitable campaign with local community members.
Where: Strathfield Town Hall – 65 Homebush Road Strathfield (entry via Redmyre Road)
When: Thursday 19 November – 11am.
Bookings are essential as seats are strictly limited.
All donations will be supplied to St Merkorious Charity, South Strathfield and St Pauls, Burwood for distribution to members of the community who need it most.
