The Department of Education announced that they have agreed to purchase a property adjacent to Homebush West Public School.

This property will add to the open space of the school and enhance the redevelopment of Homebush West Public School.

Council would like to thank The Minister of Education, Adrian Piccoli as well as Member for Reid, Hon Craig Laundy and Ms Jodi McKay, MP for Strathfield, for the assistance they have provided on this matter.

“A big thank you also needs to go to the Homebush West Public School Parent’s and Friend’s Association for their advocacy towards this positive result. I would like to thank my fellow Councillors and Strathfield Council staff for the relentless efforts in making this additional land a reality and of benefit to the school and the local community.” Mayor of Strathfield, Councillor Sang Ok said.

The redevelopment is scheduled to start in late December 2016.
