Amendment to SCDCP - Subdivision Requirements

Council at its meeting on 6 March 2018 resolved to amend the Strathfield Consolidated Development Control Plan 2005 (SCDCP 2005). 

Amendment No. 10 proposes an amendment to Part R – Subdivision of the SCDCP 2005: The amendment proposes to include a minimum frontage requirement for the subdivision of an allotment in the R2 – Low Density Residential zone. The proposed amendment will require that an allotment, once subdivided will have a minimum frontage to the street of 15.24m (excluding the access handle for battle-axe subdivisions).

The reason for the amendment is to ensure consistency in the subdivision pattern across the R2 – Low Density Residential zone

The SCDCP 2005 (Draft Amendment No. 10) will be on public exhibition from Tuesday 1 May 2018 to Friday 1 June 2018 at Council’s Customer Service Centre, 65 Homebush Road, Strathfield, from 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday.  The exhibition materials will also be displayed:

  • on Council’s website (;
  • on Council’s eNews;
  • at Strathfield Main Library, 65-67 Rochester Street, Homebush (during library open hours); and
  • at High Street Community Library, 64 High Street, Strathfield (during library open hours).

Making a submission

Any person can make a submission in writing on draft SCDCP 2005 (Amendment No. 10).  Submissions must be lodged with Council no later than 5pm on Friday 1 June 2018 and should be addressed to the General Manager, Strathfield Council and posted to PO Box 120, Strathfield NSW 2135 or emailed to:
