Council Launches Helping Hand Strathfield

For immediate release

Friday 17 September 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown have led to many people feeling isolated and unsure how to access services. Strathfield Council has now launched Helping Hand Strathfield, a program delivering support for residents from culturally and linguistically diverse communities.

This program aims to lend a hand with linking identified needs to appropriate health and social support services, covering topics such as health care, vaccinations, mental health, managing finances, housing, domestic violence and more.

Information is now available in 7 different languages:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • Hindi
  • Korean
  • Nepali
  • Tamil
  • Vietnamese

Council will be organising pop-up information stalls in various locations throughout the Strathfield LGA to establish an open line of communication and increase awareness about this community support program.
