The Strathfield Local Government Area is fortunate to have a range of local heritage items, including education establishments, shops, Federation houses and Victorian Italianate houses.
Our local heritage contributes to the character of the area and helps to make Strathfield an attractive place to live and work, whilst retaining a piece of history that tells our story. The majority of these heritage items are in private ownership and Council recognises the expense of maintaining these significant properties.
The Small Grants Heritage program provides funding from NSW Heritage to assist owners of Local Heritage Items with the cost of maintaining their heritage property. This program celebrates local history, encouraging the retention and conservation of these items and the contribution they provide to the character of Strathfield Council.
