Adventure Playground at Strathfield Park Now Open!

Spring has sprung and what better way to celebrate than with the opening of a brand new playground at Strathfield Park!

The Strathfield Spring Festival started with a bang on Saturday 2 September as General Manager Henry Wong and Councillors Daniel Bott and Stephanie Kokkolis officially opened the adventure wonderland.

The playground is 2,225 square metres and divided into two areas, one of which is aimed towards children 0-5 years of age and features a mini village and trains, slides, nest swings and climbing walls. Wooden structures and colourful activity walls encourage children to use their imaginations whilst exploring the many facets of the playground.

The larger playground, designed for older and more adventurous children, is dominated by three tall colourful sky towers. Children can safely climb to the top and use suspension bridges to move between towers before choosing one of three long slides to return to the ground through.

Mr Wong said “Our new playground is a wonderful and much needed facility. Catering to a variety of ages and abilities, Strathfield Park playground is an inclusive fun area that many residents will enjoy. I commend the hard working staff for this great addition to Strathfield and look forward to seeing our youngest residents enjoying their new playground.”

The Strathfield Park playground is one of 25 playgrounds that will be upgraded in the Strathfield LGA in the coming year, so there is plenty of opportunity for adventure and play in Strathfield!
