This service is offered to single dwelling households and townhouse developments only.

- Grass clippings
- Small twigs and branches
- Bush and hedge trimmings
Materials NOT ACCEPTED in your Green Lid Garden Vegetation Bin
- Plastic bags or bin liners
- Food waste
- Household waste
- Soil or rocks
- Medical waste (including waste)
- Building or construction waste
- Tree stumps or large branches
- Treated or painted timber
- Garden tools
- Flower pots
The garden vegetation material collected by Council is taken for processing to WSN waste management facilities in Chullora and Eastern Creek. The materials are either processed into compost and mulch products for agricultural and horticultural use or used as biofuel to produce green electricity.
Strathfield residents successfully diverted more than 2,136 tonnes of garden organics from landfill in 2010.
Residents can also drop off large volumes of garden organics at any SITA Environmental Services transfer station for a fee. Visit www.wsn.com.au for further information.
