Council participates in the Cooks River Foreshores Working Group which aims to protect, restore and improve the natural values of Cooks River, its tributaries and its foreshores.
The Group is a partnership of councils, state government agencies and non-government organisations and is guided by the Cooks River Foreshores Strategic Plan which identifies key strategies including:
- access, recreation and use
- natural conservation and restoration
- water and riverbank management
- character and cultural heritage
- interpretation and promotion
- planning and administration.
