Strathfield Council Waste Oil Recycling Facility has been installed at the Council depot and is funded by the Product Stewardship for Oil Programme, an Australian Government Incentive, of the Department of the Environment and Heritage.
The facility is open from Tuesday to Friday by appointment. To make an appointment please contact Council's Depot Coordinator on 9748 9970.
Any resident bringing waste motor oil should bring proof of identity as a resident of Strathfield Municipality (such as rates notice or bills) and report to the Depot Coordinator at the depot site office at 1 Weeroona Road (off Centenary Drive) Strathfield.
After confirming that it is waste motor oil, Council staff will receive and dispose it into the unit and return the empty can to the resident.
Conditions
- Only waste motor oil will be accepted
- No limits on the quantity of oils, however oils in 5L -10 litre Jerry cans only will be accepted due to Occupational Health and Safety reasons related to manual handling.
- Observe and abide by all appropriate signage.
- Follow all instructions from Council staff on safety matters.
